ABOUT MINDY
It all started after the birth of my 2nd child. I was in a great paying job but completely miserable. I kept thinking back to my first birth and breastfeeding experience and how rough it was. What if I quit my job and started a new career in maternity services? If I could help other woman prepare better than I had, I'd be happy! So I took redundancy and used the money to start again.
After training with the UK's National Childbirth Trust for three years, I began teaching classes in southwest London. On the way to a class one night, I happened upon a lady and her partner in labor in the parking lot. After I caught her baby in a towel, I figured a higher power was trying to tell me something. Then, after 20 years in the UK, I relocated to California and certified with Lamaze International. I have been teaching both privately and for a large hospital since 2011.
A couple of years ago I started writing. I want women to remember what they read so I write with humor and real life stories. I also write on topics for other Educators. I've become a passionate advocate for women in pregnancy, labor, birth and parenting. I love sharing all that I've learned and LOVE it when couples tell me about their labors. What worked for them? What will they do differently next time?
Today I reside in southern California with my husband, children and animals (Lola, Mr Finn and Whitey Bulge). I continue to meet the most wonderful people and partners of all ages, race and ethnicities. They have taught me so much and I continue to learn every day.
